LAA Code of Conduct

PARENTS

Parental participation is vital to Lanier and the success of your daughter. This is an opportunity for your daughter to make friends, learn the fundamentals of cheer, gain confidence, and most importantly to have fun.

Parents will be asked to work gate duty and concessions for your daughters squad.

Parents are not allowed on fields.

Parents please always support your daughters coach and team.

Reminder Coaches are volunteers and without all of the wonderful volunteers, this program would not exist

The kids are priority; please refrain from using profanity and/or any foul language as it is prohibited and will result in removal from field.

If you have a concern please inform your coach asap away from the children if at all possible. If you feel your concern was not addressed by the coach your next contact person will be Ashley Jameson (Assistant Director of Cheer) and she can be contacted at [email protected]. If you still feel that your concern was not addressed, contact the cheer Director immediately, Sara Bamberg at [email protected].

Code of Conduct Policy

I understand that it is strictly against the policy of the Lanier Athletic Association for any person, either as a participant, coach, or a spectator to engage in arguments, to use abusive language, to harass or make any threatening gestures towards officials, coaches, players or league officials, or to exhibit any behavior not in concert with the general intention of this association. Failure to abide by these policies will result in game suspensions, probation, and/or removal from the park.

Any further incidents may result in permanent suspension from LAA. Any players, coaches, parents or officials caught fighting or found consuming any controlled substance will be suspended from league play for an amount of time to be determined by the respective Sports Board.

In an effort to avoid such conduct, the Lanier Athletic Association requires that each participant read and sign the Code of Ethics Pledge.

  • I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for my child participating in youth sports by following the CODE OF ETHICS.

  • I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports events.

  • I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of any personal desire to win.

  • I will insist that my child plays in a safe and healthy environment.

  • I will promise to ensure that my child is properly equipped and prepared for practices and games.

  • I will provide support for coaches and officials working regardless of race, sex, creed or ability.

  • I promise to help my child enjoy the youth sports experience.   This includes being a respectful fan, an encouraging parent, providing transportation, and offering assistance within my personal constraints.

  • I will require that my child's coach be trained in the responsibilities of being a Youth Sports Coach and that the coach agrees to the Youth Sports COACHES CODE OF ETHICS.

  • I will read the NYSCA NATIONAL STANDARDS for youth sports and do everything within my power to assist all youth sports organizations to implement and enforce the standards.
